What's in my Everyday Makeup Bag

I love nothing more than rooting through someone’s makeup bag. It’s an amazing way to find new product recommendations. If something is good enough to remain in someone’s everyday makeup bag, it must be good! Mine is jam-packed with my favourite makeup products.

Makeup products spilling out of a makeup bag

If my skin is lacking in moisture I opt for the Too Faced Hangover Primer. It has a wonderfully light, moisturising formula. It doesn’t disrupt your foundation or clog pores, so it’s a winner in my book.

When I have a long day ahead of me or my skin is feeling oily, Soap and Glory’s One Heck of a Blot Primer has my back. Unlike Benefit’s Porefessional, this isn’t too silicony or slippy on the skin. It helps foundations longevity and smoothes over textured patches of skin.

I recently rediscovered this makeup product and fell back in love. True Match is a long wearing, semi-matte foundation. When powdered down it gives a flawless matte base, which lasts almost all day without needing to blot.

I rave about this foundation so frequently on my blog. This formula is the perfect mix of coverage and glow. You can see a more in-depth review and a comparison to the YSL All Hours Foundation here.

A blogger favourite, Collection’s concealer never fails to cover my purple under eye bags.

This is the ideal powder for you if you want a semi-matte finish to your skin, it never looks cakey or flat. I don’t love the pot as I tend to get the powder everywhere and it’s not really travel friendly but it’s worth it for the product inside.

This cult classic from Tilbury is one of my favourite makeup items in my collection. Not only is it an incredible product, it is also housed in the most stunning Art Deco-inspired compact.

I only pop the tiniest bit of blush on the apples of my cheeks so I’m not too fussed on what brand I use for this. I bought this blusher as it’s noted as a dupe for MAC’s Stereo Rose, which I loved back in the day.

EYE PRODUCTS

Again, this is a product I rave about on my blog. It provides both volume and length and doesn’t flake or smudge.

Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara
I can't believe more people haven't tried this mascara. It has a tiny wand, imagine the same size as the brush on the Glossier Boy Brow, which grabs your small bottom lashes and coats them with long-lasting black colour.

I’m not very loyal when it comes to liquid liners, I’ll usually just get through ones I have been sent via blogger mail. However, I am really impressed by the Tattoo Liner, it’s a deep black that lasts on the eyes all day.

There are a few versions of the Archery Brow Pencil from Soap and Glory, the one I prefer has a thin tube, with a pencil on one end and a spoolie on the other. The nib is small enough to create hair-like strokes and it’s retractable so no need to carry a pencil sharpener.

When I can be bothered to create a full eyeshadow look, I reach for the Heat Palette. The simple matte shades are my favourites, although I do sometimes reach for the shimmers if I need to ramp up my look. I have a whole blog post dedicated to it here and this post also includes a high street dupe. If I don’t want a fussy eye look, I just add some of my bronzer to my crease with a fluffy brush, this adds definition.

Glossier Generation G Lip Colour in Crush
I can see why Glossier fans adore the Generation G range, it's a hybrid between a lip balm and lipstick making it ultra comfortable while tinting the lips.

I used to shy away from glossy textures on the lips, no one likes eating their hair when the wind comes but this isn’t sticky at all. It’s so comfortable to wear and looks so pretty on the lips.

Influenster sent me the whole colour range from this lipstick launch a few months ago, you can see my swatches and full review here. These are the perfect matte lipstick for me, they last nearly all day, with minimal touch-ups but they don’t feel drying on the lips.

  1. I haven't used the Georgio Armani foundation in so long and I can't remember why! It's so good! I also love rummaging through peoples makeup bags.
