My Current Favourite Lip Combo

I often combine shades and brands to create my perfect lip combos. Charlotte Tilbury’s Lip Cheat in ‘Pillowtalk’ has to be my all-time favourite lip liner and I use this under most nude pink lipsticks. Every blogger and their dog, describes this colour as, ‘your lips but better’, it really is though! It’s a creamy, non-drying, matte formula which can be used to subtly overline the lips.

Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk and Loreal Mega Shine Gloss Review

To add a touch of gloss and make the lips look plumper, I sparely use the L’Oreal Infallible Mega Gloss in ‘I Got The Power’ over the top. It’s a Kylie Jenner-esque nude colour which makes the lips look so much fuller.

As the final product is a gloss, I do find I need to reapply throughout the day but the gloss isn’t sticky or tacky on the lips.

What’s your favourite lip combo lately?

Currently Loving

I haven’t done a favourites or currently loving post in ages! Some are new favourites and some are products re-visited, find out what beauty products I've been enjoying...

Paco Rabanne Olympea
I was looking for something to replace my Lady Million perfume, I’d worn it out on so many nights out it started to remind me of vodka and dancing like an idiot. So I thought it was time for a change! Olympea is Lady Million’s sweeter sister. It still has that strong masculine scent, which is long lasting but it’s very beautiful scent. After a quick google, it has fragrance notes are Ginger Lily, Jasmine, Salted Vanilla and Sandalwood.

Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer
I’ve already raved about this, it’s an amazing option for pale skin as a bronzer. It’s not too warm or orange looking when applied to the temples and cheeks. It’s also a firm favourite when used as an eyeshadow crease colour. It’s the perfect transition shade and can help to blend eyeshadows out wonderfully.

Stila Stay All Day Felt Tip Liner
I find the felt tip style of liquid liner so much easier to use than bendy nibs. I discovered the Stila version in Anna and Lily’s Cult Beauty Box. I didn’t have high hopes as I haven’t used many Stila products previously but it was amazing. The liner is deep black and not grey, it smooths onto the lid with ease and doesn’t drag. It also lives up to it’s name and lasts all day. May your eyeliner flicks be sharp and even!

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream*
I didn’t love this moisturiser when it first arrived, I felt it was a little too oily for my skin. Now I am taking anti-biotics for my skin, it has dried out a little. This facial cream creates the perfect balanced, well-moisturised canvas when I don’t feel like wearing makeup. The pot is huge and you need the tiniest amount to cover your entire face, this pot will last me years!

Lush Dream Cream
With warmer days, us ladies have the chore of shaving our legs more often. This light moisturiser works wonders on dry post-shave skin. Trust me you’ll love it!

Amsterdam Photo Diary

Yes, I finally managed to edit my Amsterdam photos. I visited at the beginning of May so this post has been a long time coming!

I visited the city with my partner at the time, we flew out on a Monday and stayed in an Air BnB for a few nights. For the most part, we walked and took in the sights but for attractions that were further out, we used the tram system. I would highly recommend this for travel, you can purchase a day or week pass for a few euros and just swipe in and out like you would on the tube.

We managed to see Dam Square, the Ann Frank Museum (I would recommend buying tickets before you arrive online), the Red Light District, we hired bikes and rode around Vondel Park and took a boat trip along the canals.

A bike ride around Vondel Park and a boat trip on the canal have to be at the top of your 'to-do' list. As well as visiting a pancake house! Amsterdam is such a lovely, busy city with lots of unique attractions, perfect for a weekend break.

Smooth Sexy Hair

Having coarse, curly hair naturally means I'm always on the hunt for hair products, which can tame and smooth the hair.

Sexy Hair has a line specifically targeted at frizz prone hair called Smooth Sexy Hair, which is also sulphate and paraben free. I tested the shampoo and conditioner from the range to see if it could tame my unmanageable hair and make straightening it easier.

Smooth Sexy Hair Shampoo and Conditioner Review

The first thing I noticed about the hair products is the smell, they had a wonderful scent which smelt like salon products. It instantly made the experience feel like more of a luxury salon treatment.

The shampoo doesn't contain sulphates but it lathers well and leaves the hair feeling clean and fresh. A note on sulphates to consider, this is a chemical added to shampoos to make it lather well, but it can strip and dry your hair out considerably, so you might want to consider this sulphate-free choice.

The conditioner moisturises the hair well and doesn't weigh it down, again it has that salon smell and quality which I enjoy.

I did notice my hair felt smooth and more manageable, I spent less time blow drying and straightening after I used the products. I would purchase this again, and feel it is on par with some of my other favourite haircare products.

Do you have any recommendations for managing frizzy hair?

The Best Skincare with Pipettes

Pipettes aren’t that practical in my opinion. Whether you drop it directly onto your face or dispense drops into your palms, the product gets everywhere. I adore these 4 products so I’ll forgive them for the tiny inconvenience.

Starting with the serum, Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Wear has been a firm favourite for a while now. It was my first ever serum purchase and confused by what it did, I just finished my skincare routine and didn’t follow up with an oil or moisturiser. I still used to work but now I notice a big difference in the plumpness and a reduction in redness when I use it combined with an oil, like it is intended to be. The light weight serum sinks into the skin in seconds ready for the next product. It seems to amp up the effectiveness of other products which are applied after, so it’s a great all-rounder.

I have recently declared my love for the Clarins Lotus Oil in a number of posts, including one which revealed Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair and the Clarins Oil to be the skincare dream team. Combined the products leave my skin moisturised, plumped and calmed, plus it doesn’t break me out.
The Trilogy Rosehip Oil is loved by many and has a cult status with natural beauty bloggers. Rosehip has been restorative properties, which can aid the healing of scars, pigmentation and blemishes. I especially like to use this oil when I am trying to heal a spot, it just pop a thin layer over the area overnight. The area is visibly calmed and soothed.

The final skincare product in the line-up is the most potent, Sunday Riley’s Luna Oil has an advanced retinol complex. This bright blue oil is very watery in formula, which means that the colour is hardly noticeable when applied to the skin. I rely on this product to give my skin a kick when it’s looking dull and grey. It’s said to be good for fading acne scars but I don’t want to overdo it on this product as retinol can cause irritation to some people’s skins. I would recommend getting a sample before you splurge and see if your skin reacts.
