Missguided Peace + Love Collection and My Picks

Missguided, you have got it so right!
I was just doing my usual browsing rounds, just seeing what's new on the online retailers and stumbled across Missguided's new Peace + Love collection. They have revamped their previous range to include some amazing leather and bondage inspired pieces.

The majority of the collection is dark textured pieces, which is very on trend for Autumn/Winter.

Here is what I purchased...

Lara Croc Panel Midi Dress - £40

Cate Organza Trim Strappy Mini Dress - £35

These two dresses will be perfect for nights out leading up to Christmas. They are a tiny bit more expensive than Missguided's usual dresses but still under what you would pay in Topshop.

You can view the collection here: Peace + Love

Have you bought anything from the collection?

Trip to Conwy Food Festival/Gwledd Conwy Feast

Luckily North Wales avoided most of the stormy weather that hit the UK last weekend. My family and I headed along the North West coast to the historic town of Conwy. It's two main attractions being the castle and the harbour, and the Conwy Food Festival, or Gwledd Conwy Feast, was located in between both of them.

Conwy Food Festival Gwledd Conwy Feast wristband

Conwy Food Festival Gwledd Conwy Feast Conwy Castle

We arrived and bought wristbands to gain access to the tents and cookery demonstrations. The focus was on local produce, this included fresh fruit and vegetables, good quality meat, (us Welshies are proud of our lamb and beef), and of course fresh fish as the town is located on the coast. Chefs demonstrated and created meals to crowds in the first set of tents, we stayed to see a talented chef created a fish stew and a lamb curry, it smelt delicious!

Conwy Food Festival Gwledd Conwy Feast

Conwy Food Festival Gwledd Conwy Feast Conwy Harbour

The harbour were another set of tents were stood was packed full of people enjoying the food and the views.
Farm yard animals in the produce tent made a perfect photo opportunity!

Stalls lined the tents, filled with delicious cheeses, beverages, meats and bakery goods. Of course, I went for the biggest cakes I could find and sampled all the cheeses I could!

Conwy Food Festival Gwledd Conwy Feast little round cake company

These beasts were from a stall called The Little Round Cake Company. The double chocolate had my name all over it!

I had a wonderful afternoon out with the family, enjoyed the food and adored the surrounding scenery that the festival was set up amongst.

Have you visited Wales?
Did you make it to the Conwy Food Festival?

TREND: Lingerie Style Dresses featuring Zara

Autumn/Winter beats Spring/Summer fashion hands down in my eyes. Some of my favourite themes and textures are popular this season. Leather, tartan, fur and lace are streaming out of the high street, left, right and centre. Something I'm loving are these lingerie style dresses.
Lingerie Dresses Zara Trend

From left to right in the picture:
Lingerie Style Dress - £29.99
Combined Lace Dress - £29.99
Lingerie Style Tube Dress - £29.99

These choices tick the trend boxes with dark florals, taran and lace. I'd choose chunky boots, perhaps Doc Marten's and a leather or fur jacket to accompany the dress.

Do you like the lingerie dress trend? What will you be accessorising it with?

A Welsh Adventure: Harlech, Barmouth and Criccieth

This post is something a little different to what I would normally write about, I love reading and looking at photography of lifestyle posts, but honestly my life is never that exciting so I never get the chance to post lifestyle or travel. Last weekend I took a trip up to my family's caravan in Harlech and spent the weekend exploring, I thought I'd share a few pictures with you.

On Saturday, our exploration started with Barmouth. If you've been there before you'll have seen the fair ground rides and sand beach that tourists flock to.
After a quick trip to Portmadog to get some Cadwalader's ice cream, we decided to check out Harlech's castle. I'd been as a child but this time I really appreciated the landscape and architecture.
I spent some of my child hood on those bars, brings back memories!
On our final day we decided to go to Criccieth. The top of the hill, where the castle stood, had the most amazing views.

I honestly wish these photos did the scenery more justice. If you are ever in North West Wales, I recommend you start your own adventure.

Seventeen Lacquer Liner Wet Look Eyeliner Review

Even since my beloved L'Oreal Super Liner Carbon Gloss eyeliner was discontinued, I've been searching for an eyeliner that can replace the holy grail.
I have previously tried out No7's Stay Precise liner, which I didn't enjoy using but this next offering from Boots has had a better performance. Seventeen's Lacquer Liner comes in different finishes, I picked up the Wet Look version after a recommendation.

Seventeen Lacquer Liner Wet Look Eyeliner

The product itself is in a small pot with a long handle and thin nib, it's balanced perfectly to keep your line steady. Usually I stay away from thin nibs, they are often flimsy and make the eyeliner process extremely hard but this one is perfect. It's delicate but controllable.

The consistency is the only small down fall that this eyeliner has, it's thin, which means if it's applied too close to the inner eye it can run down into the tear duct. Careful application and wiping off excess is the key.

Even though the formula is thin, this eyeliner does not have any trouble with pigmentation. It's shiny 'wet look' finish and black intensity is why I love this product.

Pros
Thin nib that is easy to use
Pigmented
Glossy 'wet look'
Not expensive

Cons
Runny, but can be stopped by careful application

I wouldn't recommend this to people who are just starting with liquid liner but it is perfect for someone who loves a eyeliner flick.

Have you ever tried this product? What is your favourite liquid liner?

Missguided Must Haves - Leather, Velvet, Tartan and Lace

Missguided, leather, velvet, tartan, lace

I'm an online shopping addict. Even without money, I drop things in my basket and imagine they'll be mine, window shopping but online, I suppose.
I have another wishlist from Missguided's 'New In' section, here are my must haves:

Gaenor Leather Drawstring Playsuit - £29.99
This has been doing the rounds with fashion bloggers. My favourite combination I've spotted so far is this playsuit with a crisp white shirt underneath. It's a statement piece, do you guys love or hate it?

Augusta Velvet Strappy Side Skater Dress In Burgundy - £24.99
I'm a sucker for velvet in jewel tones, this number has cute strappy cut out sides. For a punk edge, (believe me punk is making a come back this A/W), style with Doc Marten boots and smoky eyes.

Lea Tartan Check Skirt - £19.99
As I said, punk is huge this season. Tartan needs to be in your wardrobe and this skirt is an easy to wear piece.

Vavery Broderie Anglaise Skater Dress In Black - £34.99
Finally a lace dress, it's very Dolce and Gabbana, darling! Haha. It comes in red and white, if black it's your thing!

What do you wish you owned from Missguided?

H&M Autumn/Winter '13 Picks

H&M A/W 13 collection advert

H&M has upped its game! Okay, I am biased as I work there but seriously, they have!
The Autumn/Winter range has just hit our stores and I love it, the main reason is that most of  it is black, my inner goth is loving it.
As you can see from the promo images, the look is based on textures, they've included leather, suede, chiffon and embroidery to create a vampy look for autumn.

H&M A/W 13 collection advert

Here are my picks from the collection:

This is my favourite piece from their A/W collection. The sheer panelling makes a sexy statement. Just need a statement clutch and some heels.

I already have this handbag, it's the perfect size for an everyday bag. The fringe reminds me of boho chic.

I can't believe this top is £7.99, I'm gunna have to purchase it! I think I'd team it with a black pair of skinnies or leather trousers.

With winter slowly on its way, I'm keeping my eye out for winter coats. I think capes look so chic with leather boots and skinny jeans.

I don't often wear hats, but this one reminds me of something Kate Moss would wear. If it's good enough for Kate, I need one!

Do you like H&M's new collection?

Botanics Rosewater Toning Spritz Review

Buying on a whim is not the way of a beauty blogger. Most of us research products, searching for swatches and reviews, before parting with our cash. I bought this Botanics Rosewater Toning Spritz on a whim, as it was half price in Boots. I've never really used toner before, but this was an attempt to look after my skin more.

I used this as part of my daily face care routine. I used my Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, then spritzed this Rosewater Toning product and finally used my La Roche-Posay Effaclar M to moisturise.
It has a good spray from the pump, it's a light cooling mist that is applied to just cleansed skin. It's quiet refreshing and smells nice but this did nothing to help my skin, I might as well of not used it.

I even think this spray caused a series of cystic spots under my skin, which since I have stopped using this, have disappeared.

Pros
Fine mist
Cooling Effect

Cons
Caused cystic spots
Didn't improve my skin or 'tone'

I think beauty bloggers should use with caution, give it 2-3 weeks trial and error. My skin is acne prone, an ingredient in this could have triggered the spots. I think this would be more suited to 'normal' skin.

Have you tried this toner?

Lust List: Missguided

Missguided are doing it right - affordable and on trend. If you are a blogger you can't avoid Missguided, with excellent advertising campaigns and famous bloggers styling up their products, they have me lusting after so much!

001. Luisyn Paisley Bardot Long Sleeve Mini Dress - £14.99
I have a deep love for paisley. This blue number would be a different take on a party dress, I usually stick to an LBD, but I love the off the shoulder detail. Gimme!

002. Anaysa Strappy Bralet - £9.99
The beautiful Kavita, from 'She Wears Fashion', wore this bralet in a recent Instagram post, she looked incredible, therefore I must have it!

003. Dotty Contrast Oversized T-Shirt Dress - £14.99
This baseball shirt style dress would look amazing with just a pair of converse and a grungey make-up look.

004. Sandira Paisley Waterfall Kimono - £19.99
I am obsessed with kimonos at the moment. I'm not the biggest fan of my arms, I'm working at it in the gym, but for now I use kimonos to flatter my bingo wings.

L'Oreal Super Liner Brow Artist in Blonde

L'Oreal Super Liner Brow Artist

The 90's was an era where every woman plucked their brows, I am guilty of this too. With Cara Delevinge creating the big brows trend this year, pick up your eyebrow pencils!

The L'Oreal Super Liner Brow Artist is the latest offering on the market to create bold brows. I've previously used Rimmel's Professional Eyebrow Pencil and MAC's Eyebrow Pencil, I love both.

I picked the Brow Artist in the colour blonde. I have chocolate brow hair but I went for the lightest shade as the one labelled brown was almost black which, would be way to dark to match my hair.

Unlike Rimmel and MAC's pencils which glide on smoothly and have a light texture, the L'Oreal one has more of a heavy waxy feel. Used lightly it does create a nice definition to the brows. A word of advice, don't go over the same spot too many times, it builds up to a strange heavy matte texture.

The Brow Artist has a handy little comb on the lid, and on the other end has a wax pencil to keep the stray hairs in place. Strangely enough the wax is softer feeling than the actual coloured pencil side.

I've never really had a probably with my eyebrow pencil wiping off during the day and this one wasn't a problem either.

Pros
Long lasting
Comb included
Wax included

Cons
Must be used lightly
Heavy waxy texture
Not too many colours, brown is too dark

I'm half and half over L'Oreal's Super Liner Brow Artist, I do prefer the texture of my MAC and Rimmel pencils. On the plus side, I like that it has a wax on the other side.

Have you tried the L'Oreal Super Liner Brow Artist?

Gimme Gimme Gimme: The Handbag Edition

My beloved Topshop bag has finally bitten the dust with a broken zip and scuffed up edges, it was time to say goodbye. I trolled Topshop's website for a new best friend in the form of a handbag.

Topshop Zip Boxy Holdall - £65
This washed out green shade is a perfect 'look at me' shade that will brighten up any outfit.

Topshop Large Leather Padlock Bag - £95
The style of this handbag is very classic, meaning it will never date. Just be careful where you put it down!

Topshop Embossed Croc Duffle Bag - £60
I can't believe this bag is only £60, it looks so luxurious and more expensive than the price tag.

Which one shall I choose?

Holiday Essentials featuring Soap and Glory, Veet, St Tropez, Max Factor and Garnier

Veet Easy Wax Electrical Roll-On Kit - £29.99/£14.99
No bikini body is ready without a wax. It's painful but it has to be done. This kit from Veet is on offer at the moment for just £14.99, instead of nearly £30. The roll-on wax is meant to apply a thin even layer ready for you to apply the strips. Take a deep breath and pull the strip upwards, against the grain of the hair.

Soap and Glory Flake Away Body Scrub - £7.50
Exfoliation is the key to beautiful legs. We often forget to scrub away the nasty dead skin cells and dry patches before applying a tan whether it be an instant hint of colour or a gradual tan to build up slowly. Using this scrub from Soap and Glory will leave your skin a blank clean canvas to begin bronzing.

St Tropez Everyday Gradual Tan - £9.59
The next step is moisturiser. Cut a step out and pick up this gradual tanner from St Tropez. This product builds up such a beautiful colour and it's super hydrating.

Max Factor 3 Day Mascara - £18.99
I'm a sucker for a gimmick, this mascara boasts three days lasting power. Almost like a tint, this product has a mascara wand at one end and a remover on the flip side. Perfect for lazy make up days in the sun.

Garnier Ambre Solaire BB Cream with High Sun Protection SPF 50 - £7.99
For those who aren't 100% happy with their skin, like myself, a little coverage while on holiday is a must. This BB cream by Garnier has SPF 50, which is fantastic. Using a high SPF can help prevent signs of ageing and also protect against skin cancer. Remember to cover your body in your favourite sun screen and avoid sun at the peak hours between 11pm and 3pm.

Skin Care Wish List featuring La Roche-Posay, Ginvera & Estee Lauder

Skin Care Wish List featuring La Roche-Posay, Ginvera, Estee Lauder

My skin struggles are constantly documented on my blog, readers will already know, I suffer from acne and I will try anything to combat it.

Here are 3 products I'm dying to try, all have fantastic reviews claiming to help oily skin and acne.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar K

This product claims to 'gradually exfoliate the skin's texture to reduce pores and to regain a smooth and clear complexion.' I have already tried out both Effaclar Duo and Mat from La Roche-Posay, both of which I love but I'm looking towards more recovering my skin from scars and spots with this product, when I get round to purchasing it. I think I'll wait till it's on offer in Boots, few months ago they did 2 for £13 on La Roche-Posay, fingers crossed they do it again soon.

Ginvera Green Tea Exfoliating Marvel Gel

I first heard about this through Danniella at Beauty in Japan, she raved about it but also told me you can try out a 10g sample from Janiro for just £2. As the gel costs around £22, I'm giving the sample ago before committing. From what I've read from reviews online, this product gently exfoliates the dead skin cells off, perfect for oily and acne prone skins.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair
Anna from Vivianna Does Makeup raves about his expensive product, she claims it helps repair the skin over night and leaves it baby soft by morning. I think I'll wait till Christmas to ask for this as a present as it's a little too expensive for my student budget.

The recurring theme of this wish list is recovery. My skin is so spotty at the moment, tackling that is my first step and hopefully buying some of these products will help to renew the skin and fade scars. I'll just have to wait until pay day!

No7 Stay Precise Liquid Liner

No7 Stay Precise Liquid Liner

I'm a lover of liquid eyeliner, I feel naked without it. I've been mourning the loss of L'Oreal Carbon Gloss, my all time favourite liner, as it has been discontinued. While No7 had the £5 off vouchers, I decided to try the No7 Stay Precise Liquid Liner to see how it compared.

My first dislike with the product is the brush, the little bristles often splay out and you end up with eyeliner everywhere! It's quite a thick formula so this combined with a silly brush makes this really hard to get a nice neat line.

The packaging isn't that appealing either, the length of the wand is a little too long which makes it hard to lay down colour, you need concentration and a steady hand.

Pros
Deep black, not greyish like some other liners
Non irritating to the eye

Cons
The brush makes it difficult to use
Length of the wand makes it hard to use also
Doesn't dry that fast
Thick formula

I really don't recommend this liquid liner, even with the £5 off voucher. I think I'll try out 17's Wet Look Lacquer eyeliner next to see if that can live up to L'Oreal's Carbon Gloss.

Have you tried No7 Stay Precise Liquid Liner? What's your favourite liner?

Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean Review

Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean

I've always been a lover of Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish, believing that nothing else could compare. I'm also worried of switching products as my skin is so temperamental. Soap and Glory's Peaches and Clean is raved about by Miss Budget Beauty, who is one of my favourite bloggers/vbloggers, so I gave it a go.

So what do I think about Peaches and Clean? I love it... okay it wasn't love at first sight but I've grown to love it just as much as Cleanse and Polish.

I first gave this a test when my skin was kicking up a fuss, but I thought it was just making it worse. I picked this up a few weeks ago, hoping now my skin had settled I could try it again. I loved it this time, if anything it's helped prevent my skin from getting worse and spotty again.

The smell is not for everyone, as it says on the tin, it smells of peaches, but in a sickly sweet way. Give it a sniff before you commit to buying it.

Pros
Helped prevent spots (this may not be the case for your skin, give it a try)
Cheap, £8
Available in Boots, sometimes on offer like 3 for 2.
Cleans skin well.
Nice texture, quite creamy.

Cons
The smell is a little sickly

I can forgive the sweet smell because overall Peaches and Clean is a wonderful cleanser!

What do you think of Peaches and Clean?

Wishing... - Featuring Topshop, Tom Ford & Zara

Topshop Daisy Print Cut Out Tea Dress - £46
I adore tea dress in the summer, this one from Topshop is feminine and fun with the daisy pattern and cut outs.

Zara Two Tone Bowling Bag - £59.99
Zara is on top form this season, I'm lusting after most of their handbags. This monochrome number would be the perfect accompaniment to the Topshop dress.

Topshop Thick Chunky Chain Collar - £12.50
Sometimes a simple chain looks better than a statement piece, this one from Topshop would become a wardrobe staple that you could wear with everything.

Tom Ford Cherry Lush Lipstick - £36
A luxury lipstick can put a smile on a girls lips and a hint of colour too. If I could pick an expensive lipstick, I'd go for a shade from Tom Ford, they have such chic packaging.

What have you been wishing for?

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo & Effaclar Mat Review

Effaclar Duo and Mat Review

La Roche-Posay's Effaclar Duo took the beauty community by storm with promises of clearing imperfections and Effaclar Mat is it's lesser known sister.
I've tried and tested both of these products and even repurchased, so reviewing them is the next step.

I first tried Effaclar Mat back when it was Effaclar M, it's the same product just in new packaging. Effaclar Mat does exactly what it says on the tin, it creates a matte base for applying make-up. What I really do love about this product is that unlike some mattifying primers or treatments it doesn't dry out the skin. In fact this gel like product feels like it's moisturising, and then it dries matte. I've never had any problems with Effaclar Mat so I fully recommend it!

Effaclar Duo and I have a love/hate relationship, I only use this product when my skin is playing up. If I spot a breakout I slap this on after cleansing and toning. It's a similar texture to Effaclar Mat but a little more runny. I do believe it helps with spots and imperfections but I personally can't use it everyday as it eventually dries my skin out too much.

These two do not come cheap, they are around £12-£13 each, but once in a while Boots does 2 for £12 so I stock up.

Have you ever tried Effaclar Duo or Mat?

Where have you been? *sings like Rihanna*

I just thought I'd show you a quick snap shot into my last 2 weeks, which have been amazing. I went to see the beautiful Beyonce at the O2 in London and hit the pier in Brighton on Bank Holiday Monday.

As you may or may not know I've been completing my Fashion Journalism degree. Three years of uni were collected in my Final Major Project, which came to a whopping 72 pages, with supporting material the word count was 18,000 words! I dread to think how many words I've written over the years.

I took a short break from work and blogging to make sure I could focus on my uni work but as of last Wednesday, 8th of May, I AM A FREE WOMAN! No more assignments and no more Harvard referencing, thank the Lord!

I'm tempted to do a post emotionally gushing over my 3 wonderful years at uni, so keep your eyes peeled.

I'll be back properly blogging from next week so I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Green Eye Make-up for Spring featuring MAC Greensmoke and Sleek Storm Palette

I wasn't sure whether to upload this or not. Freakish close ups of my eyes aren't really flattering but I really liked this green eye make-up I created, so I'm sharing.

I wanted to use my Sleek Storm palette more, I find myself to recreating the same old neutral brown make-up looks from either the Urban Decay Naked  palette 1 or 2. Spring means time for a change and time to inject some colour.

1. I took the gold shadow from the Sleek palette over the lid. I love how buttery soft these shadows are, I recommend picking up a palette of theirs if you don't already have one.

2. Then I blended MAC's Greensmoke, pictured in the bottom left of the image, which is a beautiful golden green, in the crease to add a little definition.

3. I used a small angled brush from Sigma and picked up some of the dark green shade from the Sleek palette and carefully pushed this against the lash line and added a tiny flick at the end. It's a great alternative to black eyeliner, it gives a softer feel.

4. My new favourite mascara was applied, which is Maybelline The Falsies, then I filled in my brows.

5. Pink is a great complementary colour to wear with green and it keeps the look looking fresh and spring like. I used the Revlon Lip Butter in Sweet Tart on my lips.

Style Me Up #5 - ASOS Baseball Top

Style collage including the ASOS Baseball Top
My last few posts have been beauty related so time to give the fashion and trend lovers something to read. If you fancy checking out my previous 'Style Me Up' features, you can see them here.

ASOS Baseball Top - £12
I have recently purchased this American baseball inspired tee from ASOS. Sports luxe is a huge trend this season, which I have combined with the popular monochrome look that all fashionista's are loving.

Topshop MOTO Joni Jeans - £36
These high waisted jeans are the talk of the fashion community, everyone and their mother's recommend these skinnies.

Topshop Aerobic2 Wedge Hi Tops - £45
I wasn't sure on the wedge trainers at first but after seeing them styled by my favourite fashion bloggers, my mind has been changed! They would fit perfectly into the sports luxe trend.

Topshop Stripe Denim Backpack - £34
This cute rucksack is ideal for monochrome, it keeps the look really relaxed and casual. Perfect for school, uni or a day out!

Revlon Lip Butter in Frutti Tutti

Revlon Lip Butter in Frutti Tutti

If you've seen my last post, I've decided to start swatching and photographing my products to fill my product directory.

This Revlon Lip Butter in Frutti Tutti is a new purchase that was spurred on by the afternoon of sunshine we recently enjoyed. This orange toned lip colour will be my summer staple, it suits my pale skin and helps brighten up my complexion.

As you may know, lip butters have a silky wash of colour; they are fantastic for dry lips as they are moisturising too.

I have the colours Lollypop and Sweet Tart, which I should be getting round to swatching and writing up soon, so keep your eyes peeled.

Have you tried the Revlon Lip Butters before?
Any shade recommendations?

Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick in 107

Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick in 107

I've decided now I have a product directory/ A-Z of products I should swatch and show you some of my favourite make-up pieces.

I thought I'd start with the infamous Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick in 107, everyone and their mothers have one of these lipsticks. It was kindly sent to me by Steph from Bonjour Belle as it didn't suit her.

I LOVE this colour, it's a rich berry that is perfect for winter or even pin up looks. The lipstick itself is a matte texture that is slightly drying but it lasts so long due to the formula leaving a stain.

Sorry for the ugly close up shots of my lips, I hate doing them but it's the best way to show the true colour off.

Do you own any of the Kate Moss lipsticks from Rimmel?

Uniq One All in One Hair Treatment

Uniq One All in One Hair Treatment

I've not seen many bloggers talk about the Uniq hair care range so I thought I'd share my thoughts on a product I tried out from them. Last time I was at the salon I was chatting away to my hair dresser about Moroccan and argan oil, pros and cons and she recommended trying out the Uniq One All in One Hair Treatment, she claimed it had more benefits than the usual hair oil. I was a little sceptical but I purchased it anyway, worth a shot!

This spray is to be used on damp hair before styling. It's a thick spray that has a conditioner like feel, which is why it's like a leave in conditioner. It claims to do a whopping 10 effects to your hair.

1. Repair for dry and damaged hair
2. Shine and frizz control
3. Heat protection
4. Silkiness and smoothness
5. Hair colour protection with UVA and UVB filters
6. Easier brushing and ironing
7. Detangling
8. Long-lasting hairstyle
9. Split ends prevention
10. Adds body

So which of these 10 miracle hair effects did I actually see? I do agree with the frizz control, detangling, ability to give silkiness and smoothness, also easier brushing and styling. I haven't really noticed it 'repairing' my hair, heat and colour protection, which is hard to tell anyway and I wouldn't say it adds body. 7 out of 10 is really good though, I don't think any hair care product is THAT amazing!

I would recommend this to girls like myself who have frizzy, dry, fly-away hair, but girls with greasy/oily hair stay clear. This leave in conditioner needs to be used with a light hand to prevent the hair looking greasy, so I suggest just 3-4 squirts not too close to the roots and then brush through.

This is normally only available in salons, but I did a quick Google search and cheapsmells.com sells it for £10.49, if you are interested.

Have you heard of Uniq One before?

Style Me Up #4 - River Island Molly Leather Look Leggings

After declaring I now own a pair of Ross Geller leather trouser on Facebook I decided to carry on with my 'Style Me Up' series and show you how I'd wear my new purchase.
How to style River Island Molly Leather Look Leggings

River Island Molly Leather Look Leggings - £35 (£20 sale)
Seeing Kristine, who writes over at My Bowl Cut, wearing these trousers made me green with envy. I NEEDED a pair, they went into the sale on River Island website and at £20, they were added to my basket without a second thought. Sadly they are now sold out online, ASOS still has them at full price, but otherwise check in your local store, they might still have a few pairs.

Topshop High Roller Tank Top - £12
A simple grey tee is the perfect accompaniment to the leather trousers, it will let the accessories do the talking and of course I love Topshop basics.

Zara Multicoloured Lace Up Sandal - £69.99
Zara can do no wrong in my book! These heels are AH-MAZING! They also come in black for those not so brave on the colour front.

Topshop Spike Hoop Earrings - £8.50
Grey being a 'cool' colour looks better with silver so I picked these spiked hoops.

What would you style leather leggings are trousers with?

TAG: Beauty Things I Suck At

I am not a qualified make-up artist or hairdresser, so my make-up and hair are less than perfect! For a beauty blogger I'm actually quite lazy, when it comes to perfecting my face and hair before leaving the house. Throwing my hair up and applying minimal make-up is my daily routine for uni.

I saw NikkiTutorials to the 'Beauty Things I Suck At', I thought its a really fun tag to do. Sometimes the beauty community can be a little competitive, I think this tag will show not everyone is perfect!

So here are the beauty things I suck at...

1. Liquid eyeliner
I cannot for the life of me get liquid eyeliner right. I either smudge the line or make the flicks wonky. Most of the time I just check they are 60% similar and whack loads of mascara on to hide it.

2. Over drawing my eyebrows
This doesn't happen everyday, but sometimes I have an off day where my brow misbehave. I just can't get them to match in shape, so I compensate with a little more here and there, trying to balance them out, in the end I get caterpillar/Scouse brows.

3. Messy hair
I'm guilty of not really bothering with my hair. I wish I could be one of those girls that has the perfect long curls, but 'ain't no body got time for dat'. My hair is naturally curly and unmanageable, up in a bun or ponytail it goes.

4. Dying my hair at home
I've recently had a hair dye disaster, I ended up with Morticia Addams hair after attempting to dye it brown. Must. Stop. Messing. Around. With. My. Hair.

5. Fake tan
Oh my, I've had some fake tan disasters. Being milk bottle white makes tanning hard, my face often doesn't blend in with the rest of my fake tanned skin. Note to self, buy a darker foundation with SPF, to prevent white face flash back.

Are you guilty of any of these things?
What beauty things do you suck at?

Hair Trends for 2013

Every now and then I get stuck in a rut; I need to change something about myself. A little fickle I know but it’s nice to have a change and it gives me something to blog about! The one aspect of me I change the most is my hair. I've had blonde, brown, black, red and ginger hair colours. I've left it naturally curly, had it straight and smooth and even had hair extensions.

I've been looking for some hair inspiration, researching the latest hair trends for this season. I might even try a few out, take pictures and blog about it, of course.

Super Straight

Derek Lam, Emilio Pucci and Marios Schwab, to name a few, created super sleek styles for their catwalk shows. Use hair oils like Organix Moroccan Argan Oil Penetrating Oil to stop fly aways and create smooth silky hair. If you have quite short hair, you can use clip in hair extensions to create model like lengths.

Wet Look

This is a hair trend I probably wouldn't try out myself, I think I’ll let editorial hair and beauty teams take this on board, it’s not for everyday! If you are more brave than myself and want to try the grunge gel look, pick up VO5’s Mega Hold Styling Gel and use a wide tooth comb to create this wet look style.

Sexy 60’s

Monochrome is back and the 60’s glam look came back with it, Marc Jacobs is a perfect example. His stylist team created bouffant hair styles for the models. To get that desired height to your beehive, use a volumising powder like Schwarzkopf’s got2b Volumising Style Powder, just sprinkle a little onto your roots and massage in.

Will you be wearing these hair trends?
Which one is your favourite?
