Disco Pants - Bum Flattering Goodness!

The fashion world has gone crazy for American Apparel's big bum flattering Disco Pants. I cannot say enough things about these skin tight high waisted numbers!

I ordered a medium after the sizing guide told me that size 12's should opt for that, but when I excited ripped open the parcel, I thought to myself I'm never going to fit into these but they fitted like a glove! The best thing about the disco pants are that they have stretch but also nip you in a little while being amazingly comfortable.
I paid £49 as I has a 30 percent discount code but I do think they are worth the £70 price tag!

And here is what I look like in mine...

I normally style mine with crop tops or shirts tucked in and some chunky boots for nights out. I think if I was to wear them in the day I'd opt for a blouse and a denim jacket to make the outfit more casual.

What do you think of the American Apparel Disco Pants?

L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara

I'm mascara whore, I love trying out new brands and formulas, my previous favourite has been Make Up Forever's Smoky Lash, which is nearly impossible to buy in the UK and comes with a hefty £17 price tag. I also LOVE Max Factor's False Lash Effect, but don't bother with the new 24 hour version though it's so hard to get off!
After hating but eventually loving Rimmel's Scandal'Eyes, (sorry for the previous bad review) I decided to try out a new mascara. I'd heard amazing things about L'Oreal's Telescopic mascara from Vivianna Does Makeup but was put off L'Oreal mascara's because of a bad experience with the Volume Million Lashes, but I took the plunge while make-up was on 3 for 2 at Boots.

I adore the Telescopic mascara, I've only had it for a few days but I am truly in love and this brings me to question why didn't anyone tell me about this mascara sooner?!?

The plastic wand has tiny bristles that grab every lash, it's amazing for length but it's also great for volume. It's build-able so you can layer the mascara until your lashes are thick enough.

You can read Vivianna's review here.
She also has pictures of how it lengthens the lashes, so you don't have to have scary eye close up shots from me!

What's your favourite mascara?

My MAC Lipstick Collection

So I was thinking of what my next blog post should be and I noticed my lipstick collection is getting a little out of hand. Its grown since my first MAC lipstick post.

The lighting on my window sill isn't great, the photos from above show the colours more true.

Left to right: Patisserie, Creme Cup, Lovelorn, Ever Hip (Limited Edition)

Patisserie - Sheer creamy neutral pink
I mentioned this in my Lana Del Rey lips post, it's the perfect brown nude pink that gives you Lana Del Rey lips, shame I can't look like her!

Creme Cup - Light blue pink
I think this was my first MAC lipstick, it's just easy to wear and I know it goes with everything.

Lovelorn - Emotive blue pink
It's my newest edition, I Back 2 MAC'd and got this beauty, it's a deeper pink than Creme Cup.

Ever Hip - A creamy light coral
This has had a lot of love, mostly by my flatmate, she needs to stop wearing it as it's limited edition!

Costa Chic, Viva Glam Nicki, Chatterbox and Girl About Town

Costa Chic - Frosty light coral
This is the closest to Ever Hip in the permanent line, but it's a touch darker and has a frosty finish to it. I blot my lips after applying to take some of the frosty effect off, it reminds me of old women!

Viva Glam Nicki - Bright yellow pink
I find this a little hard to wear, I think it makes my teeth look yellow, I think I need to play around and perhaps layer it with other lipsticks to tone down the yellow of my teeth.

Chatterbox - Bright red-pink
This is fantastic for nights out, it's such a fun colour and it leaves a slight stain which I like.

Girl About Town - Fabulous Fuchsia
I don't know why I haven't reach for this more, it's such a bright fuchsia that is great for a change on nights out.

What is your favourite MAC lipstick?
Do you have any recommendations?

Putting Double Wear to the Test

Wednesday and Thursday I attended interviews in London, I needed a good coverage foundation that would last all day and not melt on the unbearably hot tube and trains. I picked up Estee Lauder straight away, this was a chance to test it to it's limits.

I have the shade 1C1 Shell, which is a little too dark for me at the moment. I bought it in duty free in New York so there wasn't a lot of shade choices. I just blend it thoroughly and make sure I take the foundation down my neck so I don't have those horrible tide marks.
I used L'Oreal Studio Secrets Anti-Shine Mattifying Primer as a base and applied a thin layer of Double Wear. Yes, it definitely is 'stay-in-place makeup' as it says on the bottle. This stuff didn't budge! Even after running half way across London, sitting on the stuffy tube, Double Wear kept it's flawless state.
I really recommend this to oily skinned girls, it stays put! Girls with dry skin should stay away, it will stick to your dry spots and look cakey. The only down side to this amazing foundation is it can feel a little heavy, so stay clear if you want a lighter feeling foundation.

What do you think of Double Wear?
